JOHN 10:10
I am realizing more and more that my heart needs to be fully loved in order to be able to fully love. I am seeing this in many areas of my own life and some in the life of others. In order to me to be able to give love I need to have a heart that can contain real love. I need a heart to sustain loving and being loved, which means I have to release any and all false ideas about what love is.
This is true for any relationship whether it is in a natural family, friendships, courtships or marriage. We can only love in direct context to the health of our own hearts. A wounded, bitter, disappointed or otherwise broken heart will be very limited as to its capacity to both receive and give back love. Each one of us has seen the results of the damage an “unloved” heart can cause. It is all around us in varied and multiple forms: child abuse, broken marriages, violence against women, random shootings in schools and other public places are just a few examples of the fruit that comes from an unloved heart. With these facts in mind it is small wonder that Jesus puts so much emphasis on the importance of love. (John 15:12 & 17; James 2:8) Also small wonder why the enemy attempts to devalue it through inappropriate relationships between men and women, same sex marriages and other forms of lust. (1Tim.4:1; Jude 18)
As a believer of many years I felt my heart was both capable to give and receive love from Jesus as well as from others. Several months ago Jesus took me through a time of what I call “major heart surgery”. For me this meant having the Lord peel off the outer layer of my heart in order to let the pink new tissue of my heart come forth. It was not a fun thing but so very necessary. While I lay on the floor weeping I saw the picture of what was taking place in the spirit realm. I saw the hands of the Lord very gently peeling back a layer of my heart. This layer had become brown and leather-like. It had lost its flexibility to move and change easily so had to be removed in order to allow the new pink tissue of my heart to be exposed. When the process was over, I then saw Jesus pouring oil over my new flexible, pink heart that was beating and pulsating with new vigor. (Ezek.36:26-27; Ps. 51:10)
I immediately noticed a difference. My heart was much more tender toward issues of life that had brought little to no response in me before. I was much more sensitive to the heart cries in others and could actually feel some of the pain of others when I was in their presence. This brought me to a place of prayer for them out of a heart of true concern and love whereas before I would not have had the ability to feel or intercede on that level. Other changes came forth also, clearer vision in the spirit, different perceptions when confronted with life’s issues and challenges, more clarity in the prophetic, were some of the things I noticed while learning to live with this ‘new heart’. I now realize that without this process taking place my heart would not be in position to remain “at rest” in this new season Jesus has me in. My life has drastically changed in these past 3-4 months. I went from being called to extended hours of prayer with little else to do with my days to being put back into the marketplace in a the form of a full time job, I have new relationships with precious people the Jesus has put into my life, as well as new daily ministry opportunities. The heart surgery I had endured was needful in order to prepare me to the season I am in now. Truly the Lord is faithful!
I see now that Jesus, in His great love for me, wanted me to fully engage with him on a new level so He had to give me a new heart in order to do so. I was not going to be able to traverse the new journeys of partnership with Him with the heart I had so he gave me a new one. He wanted me to truly love, to really know what love was from His perspective so in order to do that I had to have a new heart. The old heart had become inflexible and to dependent on things that were no longer necessary as Jesus was calling me closer to Him so had to be replaced with one that had the strength and flexibility to both love Jesus deeper thus allowing me to love others fully as well.
I believe this was necessary for this new season Jesus has drawn me into. I have to be open to fully love in the relationships I currently have with family and friends as well as the new relationships He has prepared and made ready for me to walk into. I have come to realize that every process the Lord takes us through, every experience is useful for our good if we will allow the Lord to use it. Truly, what the enemy means for our destruction the Lord can and does use for our great good if we will keep our hearts pointed to Him.
I encourage you to allow the Lord to minister to your heart in this way. Honestly, the process is intense but the results are so worth it! Think ‘no pain, no gain’.
Anything and everything Jesus takes us through or allows us to go through will reap a reward for us if we will walk out what He has for us fully trusting Him to work it for our good.
May you experience new places of Jesus in your journey with Him!

(Job 22:26-28, Mark 11:22-24)
I saw a church sign recently that read, “How to give up your expectations”. The sign was posting what the next sermon topic was going to feature. As I read the sign something about the statement immediately hit me the wrong way. There was a sadness that came over my spirit to think that as Believers we have to give up our godly expectations. I am convinced that we are not a people called to give up our expectations but to have our desires, dreams and hopes brought to Jesus so that He can give us strategies as to see them come to pass. (Jer. 33:3 Acts 17:26-27).
Jesus desires to use us in partnership to see His will be done and His kingdom come on earth today. He chooses to use us in partnership. We are called to be His ambassadors, which mean we represent Him, here on this earth. Therefore, anything He wants to have done on earth He chooses and will use us (His people) to accomplish. This includes our expectations.
Those who are in right communion with Jesus will find that He places His desires for our future within us, then He calls us into fellowship and partnership with Him in order to see these desires come to pass. (Jer. 29:11; Ps. 62:5)
We are a people who are to expect to see the glory of the Lord come forth in all that is around us. We commune with Him, He place His desires in us, then we partner with Him in intercession, prophetic declarations and prophetic acts to see His kingdom come forth on earth.
This is not ‘wishful thinking’ or hope that is grounded in our own fleshly desires but expectations that have been breathed into our spirit from heaven. Please don’t misunderstand, any expectations that are birthed in anything outside of God should be given up BUT for those in Christ we must remember that when we commune with Jesus He births desires into us. These desires are godly and there should be an expectation to see them come to pass. These seeds of change called expectations are to be carried forth and fought for.
As we embrace our dreams and expect to see them come forth we will see great and glorious things come forth in our lives as well as the lives of others. I have some desires and dreams that Jesus has given to me so have begun to make prophetic declarations over those things daily! Since doing this I am already seeing results come forth in the natural realm. I am finding that what I speak into the spirit realm sets things in motion in the natural. It can for you also!
Dream, Expect, Embrace and See!

Precious graduate receiving the word of the Lord

EIM - Prophetic Ministry- Dec 2012

Serving with Amanda Rich as prophetic ministers for graduates of Purpose and Destiny Class of December 2012.

Heard a chorus today. It went something like this,” I want to be one of those who live by faith. I want to be one of those who live according to your strength, Jesus” As I listened to the chorus being sung I couldn’t help but wonder, Is this what you really want?

Have you any idea how disruptive and intense your life will be if Jesus suddenly took you at your word and made every aspect of your life a supernatural faith journey.

Yes, it would be glorious, you would be able to see and hear things you have never dreamed of but the natural part of you may not be as excited. I thought I wanted this and began praying to have more supernatural experiences where Jesus would invade my life on multiple levels. He extended the invitation and I gladly accepted but quickly learned that this is not always a comfortable place to live and function. Many questions, doubts and much confusion surround a life lived in the supernatural faith realm.
I feel it is important to look at the full picture of walking out the supernatural lifestyle so that we don’t shrink back while on the journey due to not having some understanding that everything in your life will change!
As deep calls unto deep there are waves of emotions, thoughts, doubts and fears to conquer and progress through. The waves come as the supernatural realm invades the natural realm in your life. This is truly a glorious experience and filled with joy and excitement, in most cases, however there is the flip side of this that we forget. When our physical frame is encountered by the supernatural realm it can also cause intense emotional and physical reactions. Shaking, trembling, crying, uncontrollable laughter, and falling into trance like states are some many have heard of and perhaps even experienced. As wonderful as these experiences can be what happens if they were last longer than a few moments? In addition to those things just mentioned I also encountered intense intercession and broaden prophetic encountered and ministry. I was able to “see” things and events ahead of time. This is great but can be a bit overwhelming at times. I remember asking Jesus “What do I do with what you are showing me, Jesus?” I asked this a lot. I still do.
When Jesus encounters you in supernatural realms there are no natural answers to be had even though the natural mind will demand an answer. I have seen some who completely discredit the supernatural realm because the lack of being able to provide a natural answer to unnatural experiences becomes too much. Even though I strongly feel this is the wrong position to take for many reasons, I can understand the struggle that would cause some to take this position. It’s true. Natural reasoning has no place in the supernatural faith realm so if you are someone who needs to have tangible answers to any encounter you may have the place of the supernatural is not the place for you as there are just some things that will make no natural sense. Let me encourage you to take the journey anyway. When Jesus extends the invitation to come know Him in this way I would strongly, very strongly encourage you to say ‘Yes’! Even with all the changes and challenges I have encountered in the physical realm since accepting this invitation, it is still so worth it. So very worth it! Remember we are accepting an invitation to get to know more about our Lord, Jesus. He wants us to know Him in this way! The cry in our heart to know more of Him originates from Him, He is the initiator..we are the responder. There is nothing but gain in getting to know more of Him. The physical challenges will only last for a moment but the treasures that are gained will last a lifetime and even beyond. This is a new year. 2013 holds great opportunities. Begin this New Year by asking Jesus to extend the invitation to you. Be willing to conquer the challenges when they come THEN be prepared to reap. Be prepared to reap more of the reality of Jesus. He loves to lavish on those who give themselves to Him therefore you will see new things, experience divine encounters, hear and see with new clarity. In short, an opportunity to walk out the reality of His kingdom while still living on earth. Seeing His kingdom invade this earth to bring all things into agreement with Him.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For without faith it is impossible to please Him, for anyone who comes to God must believe that God is a real person and that He desires and will reward anyone who diligently seeks Him. (Heb.  11:1&6)

This is an invitation! An invitation to come up higher, to come in deeper. Jesus gives invitations constantly to those who have ears to hear, eyes to see and a heart that is not cowardly. What will you do with the faith invitations of God? Did you ever think that His invitations of faith are really invites to receive more of Him? They really are if we will have the courage to accept them.  Stepping out in faith involves a risk but the consequences for not stepping out in the invitation are even more risky. It is important to know that all that will accept the invitations of Christ will not walk out life as “business as usual”. Your life will be disrupted..your plans will be unsettled, your routine will be constantly challenged. We are being asked to take steps in the invisible realm while remaining in a visible world.

The reality is that all of life involves risk and change.  Nothing in this life remains the same or goes unchallenged…so we get the choice.   We can either change according to the world’s invitations or change according to the ebbs and tides of walking out the faith journey with the Lord. Truly, accepting His invitations of faith will cause us to be stretched in many ways. There will be choices we are offered through daily circumstances and some will involve making life changing decisions to accept His invitation but these choices don’t seem so daunting when we realize all of these decisions come down to how much do we trust Him with ourselves?

Taking faith steps to diligently seek Christ requires focus and purpose.  It is not something you can do “on the fly”. It will involve putting some lesser things away in order to gain the greater things of Him. It will involve redirecting time and living life different.  All this is part of accepting the invitation to walk the faith journey with Him, all the while knowing that He is totally worth the challenges that may come.

Recently Jesus has extended an invitation to me to walk a different faith journey with Him than I have in the past.  My invitation to come up higher, learn more of what it means to live in Him, walk in His provision and trust Him in deeper ways.  It involves lots of risks but I have determined to walk it out.  I am starting to realize that if I really want to see Jesus move in supernatural ways in my life I can’t do this while living the “daily routine” of life as usual. Seeing Jesus move differently in our lives involves us living life differently.

May we each enjoy the journey!
