WALKING IN THE INHERITANCE
Living in the Abundance of Those Who Have Gone Before
Galatians 3

Have you ever heard or read of someone who received an great inheritance from a distant relative? In some cases the person receiving the inheritance may not have even met the relative that was now leaving them this vast source of wealth. To be honest, each time I hear of something like this taking place I immediately, almost involuntarily, think, “Wow, that must be nice. I wish that was me receiving that.”

Ever been there?

To wake up one day to find that you have suddenly inherited a fortune simply from having been born into your family is probably everyone’s dream. Who wouldn’t be overjoyed to find that you can now partake of wealth and riches beyond anything you could have dreamed of all for just being who you are?

Guess what? Great News!

Those of us who know Jesus and make the decision to walk by faith in Him alone have such an inheritance! It is the blessings Jesus purchased for us through His life, sacrifice, death and resurrection. It is contained in salvation, which is awesome in itself. If it was just salvation that was purchased that would truly be more than we could ever hope to have gained in our sinful state. But wait… there is more! We not only gain salvation but we have also gained full access to all the blessings of Abraham, our distant relative.
We see in scripture that Jesus redeemed us so that we can now receive all the blessings of Abraham’s seed. (Vs. 13-14)That means each of us who have chosen to live in the faith realm are now privy to ALL the blessings of Abraham. Jesus opened the door for ‘whosoever will’ to be able to receive the promises that the seed of Abraham have access to.

It is important to remember that just like an earthly inheritance, there are conditions or requirements the recipient must fulfill in order to gain the wealth that is available.
For the ‘Faith Child’ (Believer) the requirement is simple…turn away from all forms of living after the flesh and live completely submitted to the Holy Spirit by Faith. (Vs.5-9) Commit yourself to live in all Jesus shows you to do…even when it seems scary. Remember the ‘the just shall live by faith’ (Rom1:17). Those that believe and walk out this truth now have full access to all the promised of Abraham. (Vs. 26-29) The promises of Abraham are great. We have been give great riches (Gen.13:2); vast lands (Gen. 15:18); Fruitfulness in every area of life (Gen. 17:2-9). Truly, there is no earthly inheritance that can compare with great inheritance that our Savior and gracious Lord have purchased for us. So very awesome!!
This Easter season as we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. It is a time to reflect on not just His life and death but, most importantly, His defeat of the grave and all that this brought for those who will believe. I encourage you to take this time to reflect on how much of the inheritance you are currently walking in. There is still opportunity to walk in more! Use this as a time to purpose to walk in all the blessings brought for you through so great a victory.

LIVING A LIFE OF SUPERNATURAL FAITH WILL YEILD SUPERNATURAL RESULTS.

WHEN THE SUPERNATURAL MEETS THE NATURAL

Heard a chorus today. It went something like this,” I want to be one of those who live by faith. I want to be one of those who live according to your strength, Jesus” As I listened to the chorus being sung I couldn’t help but wonder, Is this what you really want?

Have you any idea how disruptive and intense your life will be if Jesus suddenly took you at your word and made every aspect of your life a supernatural faith journey.

Yes, it would be glorious, you would be able to see and hear things you have never dreamed of but the natural part of you may not be as excited. I thought I wanted this and began praying to have more supernatural experiences where Jesus would invade my life on multiple levels. He extended the invitation and I gladly accepted but quickly learned that this is not always a comfortable place to live and function. Many questions, doubts and much confusion surround a life lived in the supernatural faith realm.
I feel it is important to look at the full picture of walking out the supernatural lifestyle so that we don’t shrink back while on the journey due to not having some understanding that everything in your life will change!
As deep calls unto deep there are waves of emotions, thoughts, doubts and fears to conquer and progress through. The waves come as the supernatural realm invades the natural realm in your life. This is truly a glorious experience and filled with joy and excitement, in most cases, however there is the flip side of this that we forget. When our physical frame is encountered by the supernatural realm it can also cause intense emotional and physical reactions. Shaking, trembling, crying, uncontrollable laughter, and falling into trance like states are some many have heard of and perhaps even experienced. As wonderful as these experiences can be what happens if they were last longer than a few moments? In addition to those things just mentioned I also encountered intense intercession and broaden prophetic encountered and ministry. I was able to “see” things and events ahead of time. This is great but can be a bit overwhelming at times. I remember asking Jesus “What do I do with what you are showing me, Jesus?” I asked this a lot. I still do.
When Jesus encounters you in supernatural realms there are no natural answers to be had even though the natural mind will demand an answer. I have seen some who completely discredit the supernatural realm because the lack of being able to provide a natural answer to unnatural experiences becomes too much. Even though I strongly feel this is the wrong position to take for many reasons, I can understand the struggle that would cause some to take this position. It’s true. Natural reasoning has no place in the supernatural faith realm so if you are someone who needs to have tangible answers to any encounter you may have the place of the supernatural is not the place for you as there are just some things that will make no natural sense. Let me encourage you to take the journey anyway. When Jesus extends the invitation to come know Him in this way I would strongly, very strongly encourage you to say ‘Yes’! Even with all the changes and challenges I have encountered in the physical realm since accepting this invitation, it is still so worth it. So very worth it! Remember we are accepting an invitation to get to know more about our Lord, Jesus. He wants us to know Him in this way! The cry in our heart to know more of Him originates from Him, He is the initiator..we are the responder. There is nothing but gain in getting to know more of Him. The physical challenges will only last for a moment but the treasures that are gained will last a lifetime and even beyond. This is a new year. 2013 holds great opportunities. Begin this New Year by asking Jesus to extend the invitation to you. Be willing to conquer the challenges when they come THEN be prepared to reap. Be prepared to reap more of the reality of Jesus. He loves to lavish on those who give themselves to Him therefore you will see new things, experience divine encounters, hear and see with new clarity. In short, an opportunity to walk out the reality of His kingdom while still living on earth. Seeing His kingdom invade this earth to bring all things into agreement with Him.

START THE JOURNEY, TAKE THE CHALLENGE, WIN THE GREATEST PRIZE OF ALL, JESUS

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For without faith it is impossible to please Him, for anyone who comes to God must believe that God is a real person and that He desires and will reward anyone who diligently seeks Him. (Heb.  11:1&6)

This is an invitation! An invitation to come up higher, to come in deeper. Jesus gives invitations constantly to those who have ears to hear, eyes to see and a heart that is not cowardly. What will you do with the faith invitations of God? Did you ever think that His invitations of faith are really invites to receive more of Him? They really are if we will have the courage to accept them.  Stepping out in faith involves a risk but the consequences for not stepping out in the invitation are even more risky. It is important to know that all that will accept the invitations of Christ will not walk out life as “business as usual”. Your life will be disrupted..your plans will be unsettled, your routine will be constantly challenged. We are being asked to take steps in the invisible realm while remaining in a visible world.

The reality is that all of life involves risk and change.  Nothing in this life remains the same or goes unchallenged…so we get the choice.   We can either change according to the world’s invitations or change according to the ebbs and tides of walking out the faith journey with the Lord. Truly, accepting His invitations of faith will cause us to be stretched in many ways. There will be choices we are offered through daily circumstances and some will involve making life changing decisions to accept His invitation but these choices don’t seem so daunting when we realize all of these decisions come down to how much do we trust Him with ourselves?

Taking faith steps to diligently seek Christ requires focus and purpose.  It is not something you can do “on the fly”. It will involve putting some lesser things away in order to gain the greater things of Him. It will involve redirecting time and living life different.  All this is part of accepting the invitation to walk the faith journey with Him, all the while knowing that He is totally worth the challenges that may come.

Recently Jesus has extended an invitation to me to walk a different faith journey with Him than I have in the past.  My invitation to come up higher, learn more of what it means to live in Him, walk in His provision and trust Him in deeper ways.  It involves lots of risks but I have determined to walk it out.  I am starting to realize that if I really want to see Jesus move in supernatural ways in my life I can’t do this while living the “daily routine” of life as usual. Seeing Jesus move differently in our lives involves us living life differently.

May we each enjoy the journey!
